I’ve just returned from Donegal, where all the C of I clergy of Down and Dromore Diocese (that’s about 150 very holy guys and gals) have been holed up in the Central Hotel in Donegal town since Monday, enjoying our bi-annual retreat. \u00a0It was a fab week – we had sessions with N.T. Wright (v famous! has written lots of books!), worship, prayer, discussion, communion, and two things in particular which were very relevant to Dock-World…<\/p>\n

However I’m absolutely shattered (late nights catching up over greasy kebabs with new colleagues and old mates from training college – good times, but not much sleep!) – so I’ll maybe wait to tell you about them tomorrow when I’ve had a good night’s sleep and can think straight!<\/p>\n

Welcome to the autumn edition of the Titanic: Built in Belfast ezine. This is a great way of keeping you informed about the Titanic Signature Project and associated developments. As you are aware 2012 is driving much of our activity in relation to both product development and marketing. By 2012, almost\u00a0\u00a3300 million<\/strong> will have been invested in tourism infrastructure over a five year period. It is an exciting time with much to gain for Northern Ireland.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Titanic Signature Building (TSB) is a major focus for the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. Its importance as a driver for future tourism to Belfast and Northern Ireland cannot be underestimated and equally significant is the fact that it is proving to be a catalyst for other important projects such as the development of the Olympic & Titanic slipways into Northern Ireland’s largest area of public realm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through the Tourism Development Scheme NITB has helped to facilitate the restoration of Thompson Dock and Pump-House (now known as Titanic’s Dock & Pump-House), the development of pontoons and moorings at Abercorn Basin as well as art projects and interpretation along the quayside. The restoration of SS Nomadic has commenced and should be completed by 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
