The Bennetts have recently moved broadband provider – and what a transformation! It used to be the case that posts to this blog took forever<\/em>, as each picture or video uploaded pixel by weary pixel. But now, in the new era, this blog can be transferred from my brain into the ether and onto the world wide web at the speed of thought itself!<\/p>\n

Now as always I’ll be discreet, and – to avoid any accusation that I use this blog to promote any brands, goods or services, I won’t mention any names. \u00a0Let’s just say that in the old days, the sky was the limit, but now, an infinity of possibilities has opened up…<\/p>\n

So to celebrate this new age, I thought that I’d share a few images from the last week or two of Dock Life.<\/p>\n

First up, a shot of the Management Team, sorting out the nuts and boats of Dock life over a cuppa this morning:<\/p>\n

For the last two days I’ve been in Fermanagh, leading a retreat for a brilliant bunch of young people who are taking an intern year between school and college to\u00a0work in churches throughout Ireland. \u00a0You might remember that I led a similar retreat last year<\/a> – but that group was just Church of Ireland, while this one was Church of Ireland and Methodist combined and working together. \u00a0The Shared Medley is happening all over the place! \u00a0Here they are playing ‘how many interns can fit in a VW camper’:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Another fantastic Dock Walk last Sunday with a fascinating bunch of people and a gorgeous afternoon:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

A beauty shot of the Arc apartments early in the morning:<\/p>\n

…and the windows getting a good clean (and some other techy-looking building stuff) later that afternoon:<\/p>\n

A bird’s eye view of the Nomadic, now the focus of lots of activity and hard work as the restoration continues in earnest:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And finally, a reminder that I’m available (and very happy) to speak to churches, lunches, clubs, mens’ groups, womens’ groups…hey, just any<\/em> groups, about the Titanic Quarter, the Dock, or any combination of the two. \u00a0In fact one of my favourite things at the moment is travelling around the city, meeting different groups, sharing the story, seeing first-hand how excited people are about the Titanic Quarter, the regeneration of Belfast, the possibilities for the Dock, and the wave of hope sweeping the city. \u00a0The group in this picture is the W Club, who meet in a library on the Woodstock Road – plenty of shipyard knowledge there – I had to get my facts right that day!<\/p>\n
