As if!  I would never do that to you!  And so today\u2019s \u2018thought\u2019 was about Eleanor, the fantastic lady who told me the story of her father, Ambrose Willis &#8211; the man behind Titanic\u2019s beautiful carved wooden fireplaces and panelling.  If you haven\u2019t already seen it, you really have to check out Eleanor\u2019s video &#8211; she\u2019s a natural born storyteller:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/32374154?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Eleanor\u2019s story really brought the Titanic to life for me; all the facts and figures I\u2019ve learnt are transformed by the picture of Eleanor\u2019s father returning home from work, being scolded by his wife because his clothes smelt of paint and varnish.  The facts become a face.  Which is a tiny little picture of the story of Christmas &#8211; a story in which the awe-inspiring, far-off fact of God\u2019s presence in the Old Testament becomes the face of a vulnerable baby, crying in a stable.<\/p>\n<p>Everything changes when the facts become a face &#8211; in bringing history to life, in building relationships between people, communities and nations &#8211; and in the realm of faith.  \u201cGod is\u201d, is a pretty huge statement to make.  But \u201cGod is near\u201d, \u201cGod is personal\u201d &#8211; how much more amazing.  And life-changing.
