Building works…

I was on a walkabout of the TQ today, doing one of my favourite things: showing off the area to someone who’d never seen it before.

It really struck me just how different the whole area looks in the space of just one year; this time last year I was filming some footage to prepare for The Dock’s Launch day and the place looked pretty bleak and empty.  Today it was full of life, construction, momentum; the Titanic Signature Project (which didn’t even exist last year – the foundations were still being prepared) now looks like this:

And the Metropolitan College, which until recently mostly seemed to consist of scaffolding and tarpaulins, now looks tantalisingly close to completion – today it looks like this:

And it’s not just the physical infrastructure; you maybe saw the TQ in the news this week as 500 new jobs were announced at Citibank by the (Shared Medley…?) team of Robinson and McGuinness (full details in the article here).

Isn’t it great to have good news to report?  To see Belfast growing, changing, building?
