The Dock website 2.0…

You may not have even noticed (because of course it’s so tasteful), but Jeremy and I spent a happy techy afternoon in Cafe Carberry yesterday giving the website its first overhaul…

Cafe CarberrySo in the new ultra-neat streamlined site, you’ve got:

Home – now has a wee description so that newcomers to the site know immediately that The Dock is a work in progress, not a fully-functioning church!  Scrolling down the homepage then leads to the latest blog entries – so that everyone can be part of the story as it unfolds.

Who Are We – still looks a wee bit lonely!  There I am on my lonesome looking all happy.  But we left the page where it is because hopefully I won’t be on my own there for long…

Connect – this is the bit for people who want to explore a bit deeper.  The Connect tab links you either to the Dock Facebook site – if you want to Connect with other people, find out what’s happening, or post a message – or to a fab Scripture Union website called WordLive.  This is for people who want to Connect with God, and it’s updated each day to include a mixture of Bible readings, reflections, background, images and ideas for personal prayer, applications, and often multimedia stuff like voxpops, visual prayers and worship songs.  I think it’s brilliant and I’d be really interested to hear what you make of it.

Media – this tab leads you through to the Flickr site for photos, or the Vimeo site for videos.

Huge thanks to Jeremy for all his work on the site – and of course (I promise) you ain’t seen nothin’ yet…
