In your Times this Saturday…

Well there’s all sorts of publicity for The Dock this week.  First up, on Saturday we’re going national!… a few weeks ago I was interviewed on the phone for a piece in The Times.  They did say at the time that the article might wait for a slow news week (just in case I felt remotely famous or important) – and that slow news week has finally arrived!  Just hope the piece isn’t a hatchet job now that I’ve told you all about it…

On a vaguely publicity-related note, if you were listening to U105 this week, Frank Mitchell’s show had a mystery guest caller who was phoning in to complain bitterly that she had paid £15 to attend a church service in the Odyssey, and she thought that church should be free.  Now I’m not quite sure what she was talking about… (at first I thought she was maybe referring to the Franklin Graham event in the Odyssey last year, but if I remember correctly it had free admission)  It’s also possible that Frank wasn’t quite sure what she was talking about… (he used the call as a springboard for an exciting investigation into how much money goes into the collection plate at the Metropolitan Tabernacle).  But it was quite weird to hear someone talking about “the church at the Odyssey” – maybe someday soon eh!  And I’ll try to make sure there’s no entrance charge at the door…

PS if anyone does know what the caller was talking about, I’d love to hear from you!

PPS bonus brownie blog points for anyone who identifies the subtle quotation in the photo
