Room at the Inn

It was Susan’s birthday during the week (that’s right, she turned 25, how did you know?!), so it was the perfect excuse to try out the new Premier Inn in the Titanic Quarter, which opened its doors for the first time last week.  So as promised here’s the full review:

Definitely a very warm welcome – and much appreciated on a wild, stormy night, to be able to park right beside the hotel and dive indoors!  The staff are extremely friendly and are obviously working hard to give a good first impression.

The rooms are pretty familiar if you’ve ever stayed in a Premier Inn before – modern, businesslike, not gigantic but really comfy.  The bed was really luxurious and they offer you your money back if you don’t have a good night’s sleep!

Great views out over the TQ and back over Belfast

I’ve gotta say the restaurant was really the jewel of the whole experience – the food is really, really good and doesn’t break the bank.  My steak was incredibly tasty and Susan reckoned her apple crumble was the best she’d ever tasted.

So top marks from the Bennetts!  The place also has that lovely ‘brand new’ feel at the minute – I don’t know if we were the first-ever people to stay in that particular room (we might’ve been – there are 120 rooms and it’s only been open a week), or if the cleaning staff are amazing, but everything felt fresh out of the box!  The rooms cost £60 per night, the Odyssey is literally 30 seconds walk away, you’re right in the heart of the TQ or a few minutes walk across the bridge from the centre of town.  So if you’re looking for a wee overnight away in Belfast, this gets the Bennett thumbs up!
