Walks, prayers, punks, monks…

Hello from the team at The Dock!   (yes it’s a team for one more week… Emma is still on her ministry training placement here)

Lots to tell you about this week – over to Emma to keep you up to date:

This Sunday (3rd May) sees the start of The Dock’s monthly prayer walks. We’ll meet at 3pm at The Streat @ The Odyssey, grab a coffee, and take to the streets around the area.  At points along the way, we’ll stop to pray for residents, businesses, students, projects etc. These informal walks will be held on the first Sunday of each month – and there’s no pressure to pray out loud if you don’t feel comfortable. Think how great it will be to witness the growth of this area each month as projects progress!

We’ll also have copies of the new Dock prayer letter for anyone who can distribute them far and wide!

Another great ‘event’ is the book group. Meeting at The Streat @ the Odyssey on Saturday 8th May at 12noon (do I see a pattern emerging…?), this month we’ll be looking at ‘Punk Monk: New Monasticism and the Ancient Art of Breathing’ by Andy Freeman and Pete Greig. A great book – come along for a time of discussion if you’ve read it, or even if you haven’t – this may encourage you to do just that!

  1. oops!! silly me…date wrong! For those really observant people you will of course know that Sunday is the 2ND of May and not the 3rd…sorry!
The day is of course right however – and I’ll look forward to seeing you then!

  2. Hey, I like this book club idea. I can join in, even from over here. That punk monk book sounds tough but if I can get my hands on a copy then I will join u in reading it. Keep updating what book you’ll be reading.
    🙂 x
