A long-overdue introduction to one of the key players behind the scenes in Dock-world – Chris Hollies.
Chris is a church leadership consultant who I’ve met for regular sessions throughout the year. A session with Hollies can range through any topic from personal spiritual discipline, good leadership practice, diary planning, time management, defining the vision… a great mix of the personal and the spiritual, the theory and the practice.
Chris helped me refine that massive mountain of scribbled pages from the coffeestorming meetings down to the two key ethos words, ‘Shared’ and ‘Medley’. (I shudder to remember that, before going in to the meeting with him that day, I was going to go with ‘Shared’ and ‘Messy’ – a word which makes (sort of) sense when I explain it, but just would’ve been a terrible term to use as we try to make The Dock look like a credible business proposition!) He’s also been the key architect of the Dock Business Plan, which has now reached the stage of design and final proofing.
Last week we made a Dock movie for Chris to introduce himself and his business on his own web page (Leadership First) – so with a deep vote of thanks to Chris for all he has contributed to The Dock, I thought I’d share it with you all:
When we from Norn Irn think of the Titanic Quarter, we think of it standing in the shadow of two giant cranes… now we praise God for bringing us a giant among leaders.
